History of the club crest
On December 16th 1923, the citizens of the town of Lennoxville and Ascot municipality erected a monument in the Lennoxville Town Square as a permanent testimonial to the men of the town and surrounding districts who laid down their lives in World War I. A captured German 7.7 cm FK cannon, which was donated by the 5th Battlion Canadian Mounted Rifles, was also displayed in the town square at the same time.
As the Lennoxville Curling Club was founded the same year of this commemoration it was this scene that was chosen as the background for the club crest and pin. The design, artwork, and die for the crest and pin were all created by Fred McLean. Today, the cannon is no longer displayed in the town square as it was given to the Government of Canada several years ago to be melted and reused for new armament in World War II.
